A WHY&CO shoe is built on a last shaped to the proportions of a foot, not the dimensions of a mould. Our bespoke, European hand-finished lasts fit differently than a mass-market sneaker, closer through the midfoot, true to size rather than inflated to flatter a chart. This guide replaces guesswork with understanding: how our sizes convert, how to measure at home, and how each last we build is meant to fit. Fit, to us, is a matter of precision rather than preference. This is where that precision begins.
01 · Size conversion
Enter your usual US size or a measured length in centimetres, and we'll match you to your WHY&CO size.
Between two sizes? We round up — a little room settles in better than none.

02 · Width & volume
WHY&CO is built on a standard D-width, a true men's medium, snug through the midfoot without ever boxing in the forefoot. For wider feet or a higher instep, size up by two sizes per width increment: the added length creates the added room across the ball of the foot that a half-size alone won't give you. This single standard keeps every last consistent, so the adjustment you need to make is always about length, not guesswork about volume.
03 · At home
Tape a sheet of paper to a hard floor against a wall, and stand on it barefoot with your heel against the wall.
Mark the floor at the tip of your longest toe — the distance from wall to mark is your foot length.
Repeat for both feet. Few feet are perfectly identical; size to the larger measurement.
If you'll wear socks with the style you're ordering, add a few millimetres of allowance; if you'll wear it sockless, the measurement above is your true length.
Measure in the evening, not first thing in the morning. Feet expand slightly over the course of a day, and an evening measurement reflects how the shoe will actually fit when you're wearing it.

Available by appointment at our Craig Road atelier in Singapore. A fitting specialist will confirm your size, last, and width in person before you commit. Walk-ins are welcome, though booking ahead secures your preferred time.
06 · Questions
When you're genuinely between two sizes, we recommend sizing up. Full-grain European calf relaxes and shapes to your foot with wear. A shoe that's slightly roomy on day one will mould comfortably over time, while one that's too tight rarely does.
Snug through the midfoot with enough room to move your toes, not loose & not pinching. Some initial firmness at the heel and vamp is normal; it eases as the leather breaks in over the first few wears.
Yes, within 14 days of receipt, unworn and uncreased, with original tags, dust bags, and packaging intact. Singapore clients can arrange a size exchange via a salon appointment at Craig Road or by mail; international orders are returned for a refund of the product cost (original shipping is non-refundable), with a new order placed in the correct size. Shoe care products, opened or worn socks, gift cards, and sale items aren't eligible for return.
